Quote on courage

I have been reading John McCains book "Why Courage Matters" and the following is a quote which kind of applies to how I feel about the adoption process with its ups and downs. And just to life in general.

"We're all afraid of something. Some have more fears than others. The one we must all guard against is the fear of ourselves. Don't let the sensation of fear convince you that you're too weak to have courage. Fear is the opportunity for courage, not proof of cowardice. No one is born a coward. We were meant to love. And we were meant to have courage for it. So be brave. The rest is easy."

Decision for Adoption

When Jason and I were married we had always planned on having three or four children. Our little angel McKenna came along and is now five. After four long years of infertility treatments we decided to check into different routes of adoption. We looked at domestic adoption, foster care and international. After much fasting and prayer we decided the option we would pursue was to adopt from China. So here we are in the middle of what is fondly known as the paperchase, this is a gathering of documents which shows both governments and state agencies that we can adequately provide for more children. Watch in the next few days for the actual time line of the paperwork part of our adoption journey. We assume for another daughter but the officials in China have been referring alot more boys lately. We have requested either and will not know until referral day the sex of the baby. Actual referral time wait is six months right now so depending on how the goverment certifications go we will going to China sometime after April 2005.
